FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for viscosity measurement of Newtonian and viscoplastic media limited to small volume, with temperature and pressure varying in wide ranges. Viscosity sensor of a viscosity gauge includes a case with measurement chamber, induction motor with its rotor mounted on supports. The measurement chamber is connected to input and output channels of the case. The case consists of three parts; the central part holds stator of the induction motor, while the rotor supports are in the end parts. Velocity sensor rotor has rigid galvanic link to the induction motor rotor and is mounted in the centre part of the measurement chamber, while its supports enable electric insulation of the rotor from the case. Middle part of the velocity sensor rotor is a symmetrical rod system where rods are the velocity sensor poles, and the rest of the middle rotor part is filled with dielectric material and forms a single whole, so that external surface of the velocity sensor rotor comprises a single cylindrical surface of round cross-section with the induction motor rotor. Stator winding has electrical link to the control system of stator power source output.

EFFECT: improved reliability and measurement precision along with reduced cost of sensor.
