BEET COSSETTES SCALDER Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC C13D1/10 

FIELD: sugar industry.

SUBSTANCE: scalder includes vertical cylindrical casing divided into three sections having horizontal sieves with windows made to transfer beet cossettes and equipped with steam chambers and turnstiles made to loading beet cossettes and discharge scalded ones. Casing incorporates rotor consisting of vertical hollow shaft equipped with steam supply pipeline and blades fixed at the shaft to mix and move cossettes. Nozzles and headers for steam supply into cossettes layer are also fixed at the shaft along helical curve with the same pitch. Shaft is equipped with vibrator creating its vibrations. Steam chamber is installed in the bottom section of casing to supply calcinated solution into layer of cossettes.

EFFECT: even heating of beet cossettes along layer height, prevention of their softening in the process of scalding.
