FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the method of detecting tungsten containing minerals in heavy concentrates by separating mineral deposits in a liquid, for example, bromoform on density. The method involves boiling the heavy concentrate in a concentrated salty acid. Before boiling, the heavy concentrate is separated in a heavy liquid, magnetic and electromagnetic separation of the heavy fraction is carried out for obtaining a magnetic, strong electromagnetic, weak electromagnetic and non-electromagnetic fractions. The strong electromagnetic fraction is then washed in bromoform with obtaining of an ultraconcentrate, which is boiled in a concentrated salty acid for 20-30 minutes. After boiling, hematite particles are separated using a magnet, and ilmenite is also separated, the particles of which are covered in a greyish deposit of leucoxene, and the residue is examined under a binocular microscope for finding volframite. The non-electromagnetic fraction is boiled in a concentrated salty acid for 5-10 minutes, examined under a binocular microscope for presence of scheelite in it, which is covered by a yellow deposit.

EFFECT: simplification of the process, faster detection of mono-fractions of volframite and scheelite in a heavy fraction of heavy concentrates.
