METHOD OF ROUNDED LOGS DRYING Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC F26B3/347 

FIELD: woodworking.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to woodworking industry and to technological processes of timber microwave drying and may be used in production of construction materials, namely, rounded logs. Method consists in cyclic microwave heating with curing of log core by half-meter sections with reduction of temperature gradient from centre to ends. Zone of microwave heating is expanded serially, heating half-meter sections with interval of 90-240 sec. In every subsequent cycle, maximum temperature of microwave heating is increased by 5-10°C. Convective thermal treatment is carried out after every cycle by blowing side surface with heated moist air. Air flow is heated by 7-8°C less than previous temperature of microwave heating at appropriate half-metre section. Air humidity is selected based on condition to provide an increase in balanced humidity at the surface of log by (3.5±0.5)%.

EFFECT: efficient technology of drying of rounded logs by optimisation of process of control over temperature gradients and humidity of processed timber.
