FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: device for SHF-drying timber consists of chamber with door and of loading mechanism. Groups of tiered SHF-sources in form of magnetrons communicating via waveguides with the chamber are arranged on opposite sides of the chamber. An open end of the wave guide is installed at angle of 45° relative to lengthwise axis of the chamber. The magnetrons are connected with a control system in form of multi-channel programmed relay to facilitate control of power of magnetrons, of mode of their turning on and off. Each channel of output of programmed relay is electrically connected with the tiered group of magnetrons and opposite group of magnetrons on the opposite side of the chamber. To one of the channels of output there are parallel connected magnetrons of the central group and magnetrons of the opposite group on the opposite side of the chamber. Similarly, the next groups of magnetrons set off by length of the chamber are connected to the next channel; they are positioned on opposite sides from the said central groups of magnetrons. Similarly, the magnetrons of the following groups are connected to each following channel 10…12; the groups are positioned on both sides from preceding groups of magnetrons. The device is equipped with a system of shallow vacuum in in the chamber with tiered pipelines. At realisation of SHF process long-length large-sized wood is covered with radio-transparent moisture-proof material on sides and on top and there is switched on the system of magnetron control. Long-length timber is dried at double-side SHF heating treated zones of timber; zones of heating are successively expanded in multi-stages from the central zone of treatment to successive zones in the direction to both ends of timber and at regulation of power of SHF sources at each stage. SHF power is successively increased in each zone of treatment and simultaneously SHF sources in the central zone and all preceding zones in the direction to central one are turned off. Also, local vacuum is created with pulses in the chamber from the side of ends of treated timber.
EFFECT: reduced power expenditures, simplification of process at maintaining quality of drying long-length timber, preferably, logs and cants.
