FIELD: heating systems, drying.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to woodworking equipment of timber industry and can be used in technological processes of microwave drying of large-sized timber, and namely cylindrical logs and bar. Plant includes sealed drying chamber made in the form of a tunnel, and is equipped with controllable convection heat treatment sources and magnetrons, waveguides of electromagnetic microwave energy in the form of megaphones adjacent to rectangular openings made in side walls throughout the length of the chamber. Magnetrons are located on opposite side walls in a staggered order with axes offset in opposite pairs along longitudinal axis of chamber by 1/3 of width of megaphones. Height of megaphones is less than height of processed timber by value (1/5-1/4)λ, and chamber is made with possibility of arranging processed timber with a gap of not less than 1/2λ, where λ - length of microwave (cm).
EFFECT: improving reliability, effectiveness and efficiency of microwave drying plant for large-sized timber, eg cylinder lugs or bar and allows simplifying the design and decreasing losses of microwave dispersion and power of magnetrons.
