FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is attributed to pyrotechnic backup current sources operating principle of which is based on chemical power conversion into electrical power in galvanic cell containing anode, separator with electrolyte and cathode, and the source itself is able to stay in deactivated mode for a long time and to produce electrical power only after activation. This effect is achieved by the fact that electrolytic material placed in closed camera connected via channels with galvanic cell separator is hit by heat stroke from heater, for instance, pyrotechnical composition, with the result that electrolytic material, boiling, dissipating, reacting, decomposing, educes liquid-steam-gas ion-conductive substance which under action of high pressure arising in the camera quickly fills separator and activates galvanic cell. As electrolytic material, so called capillary and porous membranes can be used which contain liquid electrolyte, dry mixtures of electrolyte sols and microcapsules with water, crystalline hydrates, acids and their sols, polymeric materials, explosives, and mixtures of above mentioned materials.
EFFECT: allows to speed up generator start-up.
