FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: method of identification and protection of excise labels, bank notes, securities, documents and items includes application of protective coating sections that are preset in size and shape onto item surface and irradiation of sections with radiation. Protective coating is made of anti-Stokes luminescent compound or includes anti-Stokes luminescent compound, which represents crystalline structure, the grid of which simultaneously contains atoms of yttrium, ytterbium, erbium and thulium, and irradiation is performed with infrared radiation. Also carrier of hidden image is suggested, which includes sections of protective coating that are preset in shape and size and applied onto item surface.

EFFECT: invention allows to increase extent of image protection against forgery; to increase chemical resistance of image and to simplify method of image creation and display by using simple methods of physical influence upon object.
