FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the mining industry and is used for detection and suppression of explosions of methane and coal dust in working faces at early stages. The automatic system includes pyrometric sensors 1 with lenses 7, explosion suppression units 2 with nozzles 3 and control unit 4. The system is mounted on the mining machine, explosion suppression units 2 are mounted at either side of jib 5 of the mining machine and nozzles 3 are directed towards actuator 6 of the mining machine. Lenses 7 of pyrometric sensors 1 are located at a greater distance from actuator 6 of the mining machine than nozzles 3 of explosion suppression units 2. Such arrangement of the system enables to suppress fire hazard within a very short period of time.

EFFECT: prevention of inflammation and explosions of methane and coal dust in working faces, increase of safety of drifting operations and reduction of accident rate among workers.
