FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental gas dynamics and can be used in analysing the working processes in positive-displacement machines. A tight working chamber houses a dual-action piston so as to form two working spaces communicating via a self-operating valve arranged on the piston. In short equal time intervals Δτ, momentary values of piston position H and height h of the valve plate uplift are measured to determine the momentary force of gas pressure Pg on the valve plate using a cited formula.

EFFECT: determination of the gas flow force acting on the positive-displacement compressor valve plate at varying valve inlet and outlet pressures.
