FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to volume effect machines, in particular to piston air motors. The piston air motor incorporates a cylinder with a piston and exhaust openings, a valve gear, high-pressure gas feed lines and low-pressure gas discharge lines. The exhaust openings are arranged in the cylinder wall. The piston is linked with a rod coupled with a slipper tied to a connecting rod gear. The cylinder is furnished with a blank cover with a hole for the rod. The cylinder side surfaces, on the blank cover side, are furnished with the openings to communicate with the low-pressure gas discharge line or with atmosphere. The valve gear incorporates, at least, one normally open inlet valve and, at least, one normally open outlet valve to discharge used gas. The hollow piston is furnished with a set of holes arranged along the periphery of the side surfaces, while on end faces it is provided with self-operating inlet valves. On the side of blank cover, the inlet valves are normally closed, while on the opposite side they are normally open.

EFFECT: higher-efficiency of the piston engine and improved ecological conditions.
