SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used in high cross-country capacity vehicles. The vehicle drive axle incorporates the main drive reduction gear mounted on the axle frame or beam, and cardan shafts. The rear axle beam is shifted backward, while the front axle beam is shifted forward relative to the axes of rotation of the wheels and reduction gear. The beam lower line is located at one height with the axis of rotation of the wheels or above it, but difference may not exceed the wheel radius by more than 20%.
EFFECT: higher cross-country capacity, lower costs and metal content.
