FIELD: medicine, cardiology.

SUBSTANCE: patient undergoes echocardiographic examination, and type of hypertrophy of left heart ventricle is determined. Additionally, genotype of angiotensin-converting enzyme is determined, and in case of combination of concentric hypertrophy of left ventricle and genotype II, high risk of cardio-vascular complications development is diagnosed. In case of combination of concentric hypertrophy of left ventricle and genotype DD and ID, prognosis is not defined. In case of combination of eccentric hypertrophy of left ventricle with whatever genotype, low risk of cardio-vascular complications development is diagnosed.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of diagnostics of risk of cardio-vascular complications development in patients with hypertension.
