METHOD OF PREDICTING RIGHT VENTRICLE PARAMETRES AFTER SURGICAL CORRECTION OF VALVULAR DEFECT Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B8/00

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiosurgery. Examination by method of echocardiography of reliable criteria of pathological right ventricle remodelling reversibility or irreversibility is carried out in early post-operation period. As reliable criteria for prediction of the right ventricle remodelling process, its following pre-operation structural-geometrical parametres are taken: in case of performing operation of mitral valve prosthetics - diastolic anterior-posterior dimension - 3.0…3.2 cm, diastolic dimension of short axis in 4-chamber position - 3.7…3.9 cm; in case of performing correction of interatrial septum defects - diastolic anterior-posterior dimension - 4.0…4.2 cm; diastolic dimension of short axis in 4-chamber position - 4.7…4.9 cm. If in pre-operation period value of parameters does not exceed said value range, reversibility of remodelling process with reduction of right ventricle dimensions to normal values is predicted, if value of parametres exceeds maximal values of the ranges - after performing necessary surgical correction irreversibility of pathological right ventricle remodelling is predicted. Additionally taken into account is such parametre as maximal systolic pressure in pulmonary artery, if its pressure is 45…60 mm Hg, reversibility of remodelling process with reduction of right ventricle dimensions to normal values is predicted.

EFFECT: invention allows to select reliable criteria for predicting pathological remodelling of right ventricle in case of mitral, mitral-aortal valvular defects and defects of interatrial septum, to optimize terms of surgical correction of said conditions, to predict reversibility or irreversibility of remodelling process.
