FIELD: transport, electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: electrical drive incorporates a power supply, a switch, no less than two DC traction motors with armature and excitation windings, excitation current transducer, grounding device, all aforesaid components being connected in series. The overhead contact system voltage pickup and diode are connected in parallel to traction motors. The interrupter is connected in parallel to the excitation windings, the said interrupter being made up of the main thyristor, resistors, transistor and excitation reduction contactor and controlled by the control unit.
EFFECT: heightened traction performances of the drive, higher reliability and smaller sixes.
