FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: device for thread end knotting on flat object includes two rods moving reciprocally through the object holes and featuring hook cut for thread capture. A rod can move between start position of thread capture at one side of the object and end capture position at the other side, where the thread is loosely held in the cut. The other rod features a through hole in its end for a catch moving across the rods. Knotting method involves passing thread through holes to the other side of object to form two loops. A loop formed by passing thread is turned at 270°, while a part of the adjoining loop passes through the turned loop, including the thread end, and a knot is tightened.

EFFECT: simpler device and method of thread end knotting on flat object.
