FIELD: building.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to protection of water currents against pollution by the weighed substances arriving on the deflecting channel in an initial stage of its operation. The method includes construction of the afflux bank, appurtenance intake structure, deflecting channel, hydrometric alignments on a waterway and the channel mating and regulating constructions on the channel. Assignment of a river stream in the deflecting channel is performed stage by stage during the preparatory period. Water flows are increased from minimum to expected, not supposing thus excess of maximum permissible concentration of the weighed substances in a telltale alignment of a waterway. A flow velocity, exceeding non-silting, is maintained in the channel Regulation of water consumption on water intaking knot is performed by raising a flow-regulating valve on necessary height which is established on a water measured strip A water quality control is performed taking a water sample of chemical analyses in a rating station in the beginning, middle and end of each stage. Maximum permissible dump and maximum permissible concentration of the weighed substances to dump are defined at each stage at partial tap of a river stream on the deflecting channel taking into account its mixture or diluting in the underlaying unbroken part of the river in low-water season of the year.

EFFECT: performance of whatever kind of works in the tideway of the river after assignment of a river stream on a deflecting channel, observing thus the standard requirements to sizes of weighed substances concentration in rating stations of small water currents when deflecting a river stream on a deflecting channel.
