FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of optical instrumentation and may be used in devices for transformation of light polarisation. Method of light polarisation control in optical system, which contains source of light, polariser with plane of transmission that lies in vertical section of polariser, crystal plate, the main section plane of which forms angle 0°<β<90° with polariser transmission plane, analyzer with plane of transmission that lies in analyser horizontal section, consists in generation of polarised monochromatic light by transmission of monochromatic luminous flux through optical system, transformation of polarisation with preset parameters of ellipticity by means of setting of ellipse parameters by azimuthal angle α and turn of crystal plate main section plane by preset azimuthal angle in relation to horizontal section of crystal plate and in monitoring of obtained parameters of preset ellipticity by transmission of non-monochromatic luminous flux of visible range, its decomposition in spectrum and obtainment of interference image in the form of continuous spectrum crossed with periodical dark strips, with further installation of analyser transmission plane at the angle of (90°±α) to the plane of crystal plate horizontal section and turn of crystal plate until interference image is obtained in the form of continuous spectrum, by which conclusion is made on obtainment of preset azimuthal angle α, to which preset ellipticity of luminous flux corresponds.
EFFECT: increase of accuracy of polarisation preset ellipticity measurement and univalent determination of crystal plate optical axis direction in optical system by azimuthal angle α.
