FIELD: physics, nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: passive method of reactivity loss compensation in nuclear reactor operation process involves shifting absorber in active zone with the help of working body. Substance producing gas in the course of nuclear or chemical reactions or under neutron or gamma radiation is placed in active zone. Gas pressure is proportionate to radiation intensity and time in relation to fuel burnup grade and reactivity loss in the reactor. Working body is effected by gas under pressure, changing working body level and shifting absorber.
EFFECT: simplified reactivity compensation process, increased reliability and efficiency.
