SUBSTANCE: system of automatic frequency tuning by delay includes source of tuned frequency for clock signal generation, tuning and tap lead selection, delay line configured to receive clock signal for generation of multiple phase-shift clock signals, first selection circuit for reception of multiple phase-shift clock signals and controller-guided selection of tuning and tap lead, first sequence of phase-shift clock signals for generation of first output signal with second frequency. Method of automatic frequency tuning includes the following stages: defining first frequency, which is the required frequency of first output signal, as function of second frequency, derive at least one frequency tuning value to set condition for generation of clock signal having basically the same first frequency, and to set condition for multiple phase-shift clock signal generation, defining first selection value sequence corresponding to first sequence of multiple phase-shift clock signals, and deriving the first selection vale sequence to set condition for selection of one first phase-shift clock signal sequence at a time for generation of first output signal featuring basically the second frequency.

EFFECT: reduced ghost signal level.
