FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrophysical and electrochemical methods of processing, in particular methods of carbonisation of steel components by electro-erosion alloying. The way includes use of a graphite electrode as the anode, and as the cathode - components made from low-carbon alloy austenitic steel. Alloying is achieved with a productivity of 1.0-5.0 min/cm2 and discharge energy of 0.036-6.8 J and form alloyed superficial layers with a thickness from 4-5 up to 320-350 microns.
EFFECT: increase in hardness and wear resistance of superficial surface of components.
