FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrophysical and electrochemical machining, particularly, to spark-erosion case-hardening. In steel part case-hardening, graphite electrode makes and anode and steel part makes a cathode. After case-hardening, part surface is subjected to spark-erosion alloying by carbon. Note here that said alloying is carried out step-by-step by the same graphite electrode. At every step, power discharge in spark-erosion alloying is decreased.

EFFECT: decreased surface roughness.
