FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns technology of obtaining magnetic fluid applied in magnetic hydrostatic separators for phase separation in oil-contaminated water treatment and oil sludge utilisation. Method involves obtaining magnetite suspension by co-sedimentation of metal solutions, coating of magnetite particle surface by adsorbed layer of stabilisation substance, heating of magnetic particle suspension with adsorbed layer of stabilization substance on the particles, fraction separation with extraction of magnetic fluid. Metal solution co-sedimentation is performed by partial iron (II) salts oxidation by copper (II) salts in proportion of 1:0.6, mix of oleic acid and sodium oleate in proportion of 4:1 is used as stabilisation substance, and carrier fluid is introduced after heating of magnetic particle suspension with adsorbed layer of stabilisation substance on the particles.
EFFECT: obtaining magnetic fluids with high magnetic characteristics at reduced production cost.
