FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed driving shaft comprises the first shaft to transfer torque from the drive motor to the coupling element, particularly, to the multi-wedge coupling, and the second shaft to transfer torque from the aforesaid multi-wedge coupling to the rolling mill roller via a rotary hinge. Note here that the rotary hinge incorporates a wobbler rigidly linked to the roller, and the second shaft head rigidly linked to the shaft. Note here that the rotary joint between the roller wobbler and the shaft head is made up of a slide block and a journal rigidly fixed with the shaft head, the axis of rotation of the second shaft and that of the roller make an inclination angle, and that a bearing element is provided between the shaft wobbler and the shaft head to take axial load originating along the second shaft and the roller. Note also that between both aforesaid bearing elements a pusher is arranged to transfer axial force from the shaft wobbler to the shaft head.
EFFECT: better axial load transfer via rotary hinge.
