FIELD: lengthwise rolling processes in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: joint assembly of spindle at side of roll has additional joint pair in the form of member with spherical outer surface resting in axial direction upon pivot with spherical surface. Portion of spindle shaft provided with support includes hydraulic cylinder. Piston of said cylinder and end portion of roll through rod, said member with spherical outer surface, pivots and semicoupling are mutually connected with possibility of axial power action one upon another. All spherical surfaces are described by radiuses with center in spindle joint. Joint assembly of spindle at side of pinion stand also has member with spherical outer surface. EFFECT: provision of controlled axial motion of rolling rolls directly at process of metal deformation in rolling stand with rolls skewed in horizontal plane. 16 cl, 24 dwg
