FIELD: process flows.
SUBSTANCE: method and device include coiling of metal strip after rolling at least to one collapsible drum of coiling machine. The metal strip is periodically inspected lengthwise for rolling defects. The base of coiling machine is located under the plane of test desk installed at the level and along rolling line. The strip specimen is cut, forwarded to test desk located above the base of coiling machine then stopped and inspected.
EFFECT: cost-efficient and fast inspection of strip specimen at continuous rolling process.
