FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises continuous winding of strip onto at least one reel (10, 20) of winding station (3), preferably a revolving. Strip is cut with scissors (4) positioned upstream from the winding station, it is pushed along the feed table (6) at a distance providing at least its partial coating, and cut a second time with scissors (4) with separating a sample; roll winding (1, 1', 1" …) onto the reel (10) is finished, and the roll is removed from the winding station; at the same time the feeding table (6) is moved with the sample placed on it beyond the continuous rolling line and moved in parallel to the continuous rolling line to the location on continuation of verification line with the verification table (8); the sample is examined on the verification table (8) for defects; the sample removed from the feed table (6) and the last is returned to the continuous rolling line for winding the next roll.

EFFECT: increased reliability of winding with simultaneous verification for strip defects.
