FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of machine building. In order to increase service life of cutting tools and machine parts 1.5-2 times with invariable shape of processed surfaces, item surface is heated with high frequency currents up to the temperature that does not exceed Curie point with further exposure to magnetic-impulse field of high intensity within the limits of 1000-8000 kA/m and impulse time within the limits of 10-3-10-6 s. At that due to redistribution of magnetic-impulse field effect of "self-sharpening" of tool working elements is received, as well as stepped processing of large surfaces.
EFFECT: provides effect of tool working elements "self-sharpening" and stepped processing of large surfaces.
