FIELD: construction industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to construction industry and can also be used in other industries, where it is required to compact various materials. Soils, bulk and powder materials compacting method consists in delivering periodic strokes to surface of material being compacted by means of working compacting element's compacting platform installed slantwise in relation to surface of material being compacted. Material is subject to simultaneous compression and shear during each stroke, where direction of compression and shear coincides with material compacting direction. During each stroke, sign of shear deformations is changed to the opposite one by means of changing the slope angle position of compacting platform when it does not touch material. Device used for compacting method realisation includes casing, compacting element made in the form of compacting platform which is installed slantwise at casing's bottom, and platform's slope angle position switch.

EFFECT: intensification of compacting process and improvement of its quality.
