FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed booster is designed to control hydraulic actuators incorporated with various machinery. The booster comprises a working fluid source, two working fluid supply lines, two constant rate throttles, a differential flow control device, rod- and pipe-type actuators made from magnetostriction unlike materials, a cylindrical gate valve, like control windings, an electronic control unit and an actuator. The control unit generates current signals to be sent via the differential flow control device control windings to vary the gate valve slits by exploiting the polar variation of the magnetostriction actuator initial length. The said differential flow control device outlet pressure is varied to control the actuator operation, the said actuator representing, for example, a slide valve device.
EFFECT: expanded control range and performances.
