FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: received electromagnetic oscillation is weighted using n≥2 weight functions. After each weighting in the region of the main lobe of the signal, there is measurement of the ratio of the level of signal with the predetermined maximum level to the level of signal after other types of weighting, and the signal with the predetermined maximum level is compared with the detection threshold. The indicated ratios are compared to their calculated values. A single target is detected if the level of signal after weighting, providing for the predetermined maximum signal level, exceeds the detection threshold level and the ratios of the signal level after weighting, providing for the predetermined maximum signal level, to the signal levels after other types of weighting differ from the calculated values of these ratios by not more than the set value.
EFFECT: wide range of technical means of reducing effects of signal side lobes during detection of a single radar target.
