METHOD FOR PROCESSING OF RADAR SIGNAL Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: radar equipment. SUBSTANCE: device provides side lobes of compressed signal for arbitrary level of received oscillations. This is achieved by means of different dependency of signal level and its side lobes from alternation of weight function type. State-of-the-art method involves weight processing of received oscillations and their comparison to threshold. In addition described method involves additional weight processing for at least one type of weight function, detection of difference in processing results and their comparison to thresholds. Different types of weight processing are executed, for example, by means of processing using two values of function ϕ(f) and 1-ϕ(f) and addition of compressed oscillations using different weights. Said processing is executed simultaneously for different types of weight function. Side lobe presence is detected when processing results are greater than threshold. Signal is detected if oscillation after processing with weight function which provides maximal signal-noise ratio is greater than threshold level and side lobe is not detected, or in turn for different types of weight function.
