SUBSTANCE: invention can find use in surveillance radars and in air traffic control radars under conditions of passive interference caused by reflection from local objects, meteorological formations, underlying surface. According to invention compression of received sounding signal with nonlinear frequency modulation that ensures minimal losses in signal-to-noise ratio is carried out by means of compression filter which gain factor is calculated by spectrum of signal passed through circuit of receiver beforehand which leads to reduced level of side lobes and shortens object identification time. EFFECT: reduced level of side lobes and shortened object identification time. 7 dwg
