FIELD: technological processes; metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: mandrel for drawing of pipes is arranged in the form of set of single-type elements with profile external surface and internal holes, every of which is equipped with elastic compression element and has conical protrusion on its one end, and conical-cylindrical cavity - on the other end. Flexible element with end supports is pulled through the holes. At that conical part of single-type elements corresponds to conical protrusion, length of conical protrusion in axial direction is less than the length of conical part of cavity for provision of tight pressing of end of every previous element to the next one. Mentioned elastic compression element is installed in cylindrical part of conical-cylindrical cavity.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of mandrel external surface manufacture.
