FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: salt to be purified is put into an ampoule. The ampoule is evacuated and the salt is heated with constant evacuation. Heating is done gradually at a rate of 20-50°C per hour to 420±20°C. Pressure is kept constant at 10-3 mm Hg. The invention allows for purifying iodides of alkali metals to concentration of impurities of organic compounds less than 10-3 wt % of carbon.
EFFECT: reduced formation of oxygen containing compounds and energy input.
