METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DRYING OF BULK DIELECTRIC MATERIALS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2243464 C1

FIELD: thermal processing in superhigh frequency fields of bulk dielectric materials used in pharmaceutical, food-processing and chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves cyclic heating of dielectric material including stages of superhigh frequency heating combined with vacuumizing of volume with material to prerupture pressure extent; switching off superhigh frequency heating process while continuing vacuumizing process to obtain quasi-steady state pressure; determining moisture content of material by value of quasi-steady state pressure; interrupting vacuumizing process and supplying dry air for increasing pressure to atmospheric pressure value; repeating subsequent heating cycles until predetermined moisture content of material is achieved. Apparatus has superhigh frequency heating tract connected with cylindrical multiple-mode resonator and ampoule placed inside resonator coaxially thereof for rotation around longitudinal axis. Ampoule has conical end faced to superhigh frequency heating tract and inner surface equipped with horizontal plates manufactured from radiation transmitting material and arranged along axis thereof.

EFFECT: improved quality, reduced power consumption and improved ecology control in the course of drying of bulk dielectric materials.
