FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for drying granular dielectric materials in a microwave field and can be used in chemical, pharmaceutical and food industry, particularly for drying powdered iodides of alkali metals, used for growing monocrystals, as well as for drying organic substances. The device for drying granular dielectric materials has a multimode cavity, fixed to supports with possibility of rotation and vertical displacement, made from two flattened cones of different height and a cylindrical part, which joins them by their larger bases. The flattened cone with the larger height is joined by the flange at the mouth to the waveguide input of microwave energy through a rotating vacuum-tight joint. The device also has a dielectric pipe for evacuating the cavity, fitted at the bottom of the cavity on its axis, a device for blowing the cavity, situated outside the cavity and coaxial with the dielectric pipe. The ratio of the heights of the flattened cone with the larger height, cylindrical part and flattened cone with the shorter height is 2.5:1:0.25, and the angle between the height and generatrix of the flattened cone with the larger height is 20-21°. The axis of the waveguide input forms an angle of 20-21° with the horizontal base of the device. The dielectric pipe for evacuating the cavity is fitted through a rotating seal near the plane of the bottom, bends upwards from the horizontal base of the device and is fitted with a filter-cap.
EFFECT: invention should improve quality of drying, increase efficiency of using microwave energy and quality of dried material.
