FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: chromite ores are raw material for production of ferro-chromium of various grades, of metallic chromium, of dyes and refractory materials. The method of concentration of magnesia chromite ore includes crushing of ore, oxidising roasting, cooling, crumbling and magnetic separation with production of chromite iron concentrate and iron containing product. Crumbling is carried out till obtaining fractions of not more than 80 mm. Roasting is performed in oxidising medium within temperature range of 900°-1000°C; conditioning is carried out within the same range of temperature. Duration of conditioning is determined by a required degree of concentration. Then the product is air-cooled. Crumbling of ore till obtaining fractions of 0.8 mm is performed before magnetic separation.
EFFECT: increased coefficient of ore quality and reduced contents of magnesium oxide in ore.
