FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: piston groove houses a cushion split stepwise ring and compression ring with inner diameters accommodating O-rings. Note that the stepwise and compression rings total height h is calculated from the formula h=S1/πr2, where S1 is the area of the stepwise ring upper end faces, r2 is the radius of the O-ring inner vertical surfaces. The aforesaid formula is designed to be used for calculation of geometrical parameters of the compression rings of whatever types, models and sizes of ICEs, piston compressors, piston pumps, etc.
EFFECT: higher engine efficiency and longer life, increased specific output and reduced oil consumption, better ecology.
