FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed variator is made up of two differential mechanisms 1, 2 fitted so that L.H. semi-axle of one mechanism makes R.H. semi-axle of the other mechanism. Differential gears corresponding to larger gears of vehicle final drive are coupled via reduction gear 3. Free semi-axle of first differential mechanism 1 makes the gearing drive shaft 4. Free semi-axle of second differential mechanism 2 makes the gearing driven shaft 6. On braking reduction gear with the help of oil pump 9 forcing fluid through adjustable valve, a portion of rotation is transferred via idler shaft 5, common for both differentials. At complete stop of the reduction gear, rotation is transferred via common semi-axle.
EFFECT: simpler design of variator.
