FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to automotive electronics and may be used in automatic systems for determining vehicle braking distance. Method consists in choosing braking regime by preset duration of pressing on brake pedal, evaluation of correspondence of the preset braking regime, transmission of signal to indicator of braking regime correspondence in case current value of duration of pressing on brake pedal exceed preset one, effecting indication of total braking distance and braking distance at skidding zone after remitting of signal on correspondence of braking regime and full stop of vehicle. Device additionally contains fourth and fifth elements I, contact brake pedal pressure sensors, braking regime evaluation block, and indicator of correspondence to braking regime. Input of braking regime evaluation block is connected with output of contact sensor, and output is connected simultaneously with input of braking regime correspondence indicator and second inputs of fourth and fifth elements I, first inputs of which are connected respectively with first and second outputs of block determining braking distance, and outputs are connected respectively with inputs of indicator of braking distance at skidding zone, and indicator of total braking distance.

EFFECT: increase of reliability of measurement of braking distance.
