FIELD: physics; computer technology.

SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to methods of generating two-dimensional vector images by combining figures, more specifically, to computer-aided methods of generating vector images by carrying out logical operations on broken lines and polygonal regions. The solution of the given problem when carrying out operations on broken lines and region is achieved by finding the boundary sections of the broken line, lying in 8-regions of the boundary of the region, determination of the remaining parts of the broken line and selection of those parts which lie inside or outside the region. This method of generating the image of parts of a broken line, lying inside and outside a polygonal region, can be used in the method of generating the image of boundaries of one or more regions, obtained from using the given logical operation on two polygonal regions.

EFFECT: for increased efficiency of generating images compared to known methods without using calculations with an infinite capacity of the mantissa.
