SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image processing computing technology. Technical result is achieved by obtaining an image containing one or more documents; detecting a set of lines in the image; determining a set of intersection points corresponding to the specified set of lines; determining one or more vanishing points based on the specified set of intersection points; generating a candidate polygon based on the specified set of lines; evaluating the specified candidate polygon based on one or more parameters associated with one or more characteristics of the specified one or more vanishing points; and indications of said candidate polygon representing the contours of one of the one or more documents.
EFFECT: technical result consists in higher accuracy of displaying the contours of electronic documents corresponding to obtained images.
