SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of information-measuring systems, in particular, systems of technical vision, and is intended for solving problems of automating search of correspondences on two or more digital images. Disclosed is a method of determining the position of the search region of matches on distortion-degraded images. To implement the disclosed method, at least two spaced apart (in any plane) can be used and randomly oriented digital jth video cameras, which enable to capture stereoscopic images of objects of interest and together with a processing system, generating computer vision system. Digital cameras used can be both visible and infrared ranges. First of all, the invention is aimed at use in low-power mobile systems which require real-time operation with distortion-degraded high-resolution images without preliminary processing thereof.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of speed of automatic matching on distortion-degraded images with dynamically changing their spatial position and orientation of high-resolution digital cameras.
