SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELLS WITH BEARING ANODE AND CERMET IONOGEN Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC H01M8/00 H01M8/12

Abstract RU 2342740 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is attributed to solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). In this invention new SOFC product and method for its manufacturing is suggested. Design features and methods include anode fabrication; deposition of cermet ionogen which contains mix of ceramic and electrochemically active substances and cathode layer deposition. Cermet ionogen containing small quantity of transition metal decreases disagreement between thermal expansion and anode and allows to have structure with gradual change of electrochemically active substances content throughout anode/ionogen structure. Under operation conditions dense ionogen and metal oxide sublayer are present at cathode side while the other side of ionogen is made of porous sublayer containing transition metal.

EFFECT: increase in output power and electrochemical characteristics improvement while keeping structural integrity and reliability of SOFC.
