FIELD: construction, pipeline.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to pipeline transport and may be employed for detection of plastic properties of the metal of operating pipelines. Samples of metal similar to that of the pipeline are exposed to grade static loading reaching elastic limit and getting empirical relations between microhardness and metal ductility indexes. At every loading stage microhardness is measured several times, asymmetry ratio of the density of valued distribution is calculated, diagram of empirical relation of plastic properties of the metal samples to mean index of asymmetry ratio within loading time is constructed. Pressure in the pipeline is gradually altered reaching working pressure and at every stage of pressure increase microhardness of loaded metal of the pipeline is measured several times; metal ductility of the pipeline is detected with the help of received on the samples relations. It makes possible to predict potential character of pipeline destruction.
