FIELD: physics; measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to measurement technology, specifically to methods of solid deformation measurement based on optical measurement methods, and can be used for sample plastic deformation testing in mechanical engineering, motor industry, aircraft engineering and other industries. Method consists in deformation of geometrically similar samples made of material with homogeneous mechanical property and clear fibrous macrostructure, with orthogonal layers. After deformation the negative photographed microsections are overlapped for imaging of distorted grids used to study deformation pattern.
EFFECT: lower work content of testing with higher accuracy.
