FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: gas trace contaminant detector contains ionisation chamber with analysed gas inlet and gas vent outlet, ionisation source, electrode system, ion aperture, separation chamber formed by two opposite electrodes and connected by input with gas-carrier source and ionisation chamber through ionic aperture and by output with ion recorder. Electrodes of separation chamber are connected with high-voltage pulse generator with adjustable output voltage, pulse duration and repetition frequency, providing automatic zero averaging of electric field function integral within two subsequent pulses. High-voltage pulse generator represents pulse and ramp voltage exciter assembly, buffer stages for crowbar and ramp voltage amplifier, crowbar on field-effect MOS transistor, high-frequency high-voltage transformer on ferrite ring with transformation ratio equal to 50.
EFFECT: higher controllability of spectrum drift finite species and position of separate peaks within transfer voltage scale, expansion of dynamic range, higher sensitivity and noise immunity in gas trace contaminant detection.
