FIELD: electric engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in ionisation of trace contaminants of substances in the flow of analysed gas, separation of ions in pulse periodical electric field, sampling of ions and their registration, at that as control parameters of separating field apart from peak voltage in pulse Umax and pulse repetition cycle T, pulse duration τ and ratio τ/T are used. Because of that possibilities to control position of drifting spectrum and components of its separate peaks on the axis of shifting field increase, which accordingly increase sensitivity and selectiveness of trace contaminants analysis in gases.
EFFECT: increase of analysis sensitivity at the account of increase of number of parameters of separating field control.
