FIELD: physics; optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to lighting units, namely, to devices for direct highlighting of liquid crystal displays. Device comprises array of light sources, reflecting layer, polarisation facility and array of optical concentrators, every of which is located between polarisation facility and reflecting layer. Reflecting layer is arranged with multiple through holes, in every of which at least one light source is installed. Every optical concentrator is installed opposite to at least one light source that corresponds to it, and has shape of truncated cone, bottom base of which is less than the top base. Top and bottom bases of every cone are accordingly input and output surfaces of every optical concentrator. Bottom base is arranged with the possibility to refract light that is radiated from at least one according light source, cone side walls are made with the possibility to reflect light, and output surface is made with the possibility to withdraw the light from optical concentrator.
EFFECT: provision of efficient direct highlighting of liquid crystal display.
